Many reasons could be addressed as the cause for this increase although it’s mainly because the government increased the financial assistance to the returnees to 4 million Iraqi Dinars (originally 1 Million) and that encouraged the returnees to register their names with MODM to get the assistance, also the increase in the level of security and services and the end of sectarian violence is a major reason for return specially to places that was a major conflict areas like Baghdad, Diyala and Ninewa.

For IDP returnees, the return is kept highest than that of the refugees (73% IDP returnees to 27% Refugee returnees for the last 12 months).
